Sorry for wasting your time. I remember you very well, and it was a most unfortunate evening for you. Im truly sorry for the delay. And very sorry for the missing discount which I promised. That part Im completely responsible for.
But the coin has always 2 sides, doesnt it? I know very well when the order was done, roughly 1h before you got the food. Which also is far to long to wait. You came to our establishment before ordering, but did not wait 1h 45 minutes for the food. Thats a fact. We were extremely busy that day, one chef sick, and 4 burners in the kitchen not working. Remember we told you that we dont have space in the restaurant and that it will take long time, and that the food would be served in the lounge area, which you agreed upon.
The manager chain smoking in the bar has nothing to add to the story rather than a frustrated reaction from your side I think. I did have my laptop besides me, working, and was running into the kitchen to try to solve our problem, and then into the office in between. I do apologize for the smoking, its not healthy. But good news, I have decided to reduce my bad habit from new years eve.
You are right about our policy though. All in-house guests are booking their dinners in advance for a certain time and they get service on time. Outside guests have to wait a bit longer, usually not a problem with a refreshing drink in our nice lounge area, especially when they have been informed about it.
The reviews for food at any restaurant is a very subjective issue, dont you think?. Its very hard to determine if the food they serve is good or not so good, just based on reviews on tripadvisor. We all have different preferences when it comes to food. Our place is very busy with food guests, so actually I think we do a decent job. Your reflection on this I think has to do with the total experience you encountered, or you ordered something you should not have ordered.
Anyway. You stayed perhaps on a lodge nearby, so hopefully you enjoyed their food and service better than our, and that this episode did not ruin you Zanzibar vacation.
