Well this was a return visit having been here last year before it closed for the refurb, the entrance road is still full of potholes and parking can be an issue due to limited spaces, I must say i struggled to see what had actually been refurbed, i think some places had been

Good afternoon, Thank you for your feedback. Apologies for the car parking issues you experienced, we are currently looking into expanding our car park to ensure parking is a quick and easy process. We'd just like to clarify on the work that was carried out to avoid any confusion. We built a brand new enclosure for our two new porcupines, in addition we completely refurbished the bunny barn. It is now a nocturnal room with a variety of species. We also now have wallabies and their enclosure was also a new build. The majority of the enclosures also had some work done on them, as you may have noticed from your previous visit a lot of our animals are now in different areas of the zoo which is more suitable for them. This involved making a lot of adjustments to ensure it was ready for the new species coming in. We actually have more animals than we did last year and only have one empty enclosure. All our animals have a place to hide from public view if they choose, however the majority of our animals do come out for most of the day. It's just a case of being patient and maybe walking around a couple of times to spot them. We're sorry to hear you didn't manage to see to animals you would have liked to. In regards to the Scottish Wildcats, these animals are actually one of the rarest cats in the world and are currently facing extinction. Although they make look similar to a domestic cat they have evolved differently and exhibit very different behaviours. Our girls are incredibly rare and are a key part of a conservation message. I hope this answers some of your concerns and thanks again for your feedback. Kind regards, The Ponderosa Team
