Yes the trains were what we initially thought we would do, but we don’t have time to stay overnight and I heard there was no place at the train stations in Coimbra to store bags while we walked around the city. Did you only stop at any other places other than Coimbra?

Yes. I went thru my travel agent and they arranged a 8 hour tour, private car, English speaking guide. I think it was $350.00. Excellent idea. What you are thinking about is a 4 hour drive one way. Long day. Maybe Train? Trains are good Maybe stay over night?
