I'm afraid this is true. I've been on their boat, and on another boat as they arrived "late to the party" but charged in top speed, cutting across other boats, running straight into a pod of dolphins (you're supposed to let them come to you, which they do). Just no respect for the animals or other boats. Frankly embarrassing. I've reported them to the authorities with video footage. I was that upset by it.

Hello, I went on a whale trip with this company and did not notice disrespectful behavior towards whales or dolphins. No more than another boat going on an expedition. I recommend this company. However, I learned during the expedition two weeks ago that the best time to see whales is in the spring and also you see more on the islands further north, such as Terceira. In any case, take the boat, watch the crew watching the waves with binoculars hoping to see the tail of a whale and discover the coast of Sao Miguel from the sea is fantastic! Je me rends compte que vous vivez en France alors je continue en français: nous avion longtemps hésiter à embarquer sur un zodiac d'autres compagnie permettant de faire un plouf dans l'eau avec les dauphins et n'avons pas du tout regretté d'embarque sur le gros bateau de MobyDick, beaucoup plus confortable pour une expédition de 4h et avec un pont supérieur qui permet 'être en hauteur de d'observer aisément les dauphins. La cabine du bateau permet de se mettre à l'abris du vent et des vagues lorsque la mer s'agite (embarquez avec un bon coupe vent si vous compter rester sur le pont durant toute l'expédition), il y a des toilettes et l'équipage est nombreux (ils était 5 à bords), parle anglais et très ouvert à l'échange. Ne vous laisser pas berner par leur air un peu renfrogné qu'on les hommes de la mer, n'hésitez pas à leur poser des questions sur leur métier, sur l'île, les dauphins, les baleines ils vous répondront avec passion comme celle avec laquelle le capitaine fend les vagues avec son bateau à la recherche de baleines.

Your message is very useful as it seems that each option has it’s advantages. It will be too cold for us to swim with the dolphins in October. Fortunately we have had the blessings to do this on several occasions already. We understand that it will not be the main “whale season” but still being on an island going out on a boat is a must! Yes we too hope already to return to explore the other islands perhaps late spring! Moby Dick ( despite the name from a film which is not very loving towards whales) seems like a good option this time.
