As I've been showing friends and family my pictures from my trip to Malta, I find that I always start with this excursion, and it's what I talk about most. If you're going to Malta, you've got to do this excursion. The team were all really great, and Chris was just a fantastic guide. The instructions ahead of the excursion were clear and helpful. Chris was great with someone in our group who had never kayaked before; he made sure that person felt safe and enjoyed his trip, while he didn't hold the rest of us back. I have a torn rotator cuff, and I did just fine, as Chris helped me with my technique. Nobody had ever shared with me before that you're supposed to press with your foot while you take a stroke with your paddle. The water was gorgeous, and not just at the Blue Lagoon. I appreciated that we paddled into a cave on Gozo to get acclimated before heading out into open water, and it was really pretty. Chris made sure we felt safe in open water, and there are these jellyfish that you can actually pet, which we did. How cool is that? Then we went over to the Blue Lagoon for a bit, and the water was as beautiful as everyone says. But it was definitely a good call not to spend too much time there because of the crowd, and Chris took us to a really nice little cove with very clear water and only one boat, where we snorkeled and all climbed up a little cliff and jumped into the water. He took pictures for us throughout the trip. I went in October, and the weather was perfect. I really can't recommend the excursion enough. An absolute once in a lifetime. Thanks to Kayak Gozo for such a wonderful experience!
