I really enjoyed diving with Dive Point. There is an atoll just in front of the diving centre which offers many good spots for a variety of levels of experience. The staff is well trained for both doing a course and also doing fun dives I felt well instructed and guided. One of the biggest thing going for this centre though is the gear: they equip you with high quality and well maintained, that enhances your experience compared to low quality gear other places may offer. This impression is backed up by very experienced divers I got to meet.
The lunch provided in between dives was very delicious, including many fruit and different drinks. It was perfectly suitable for something light in the stomach, so you can continue diving afterwards.
Also sadly diving had to to be cancelled on two days due to bad wheather and a very high likelihood of bad bad visibility under water accompanying the wheather. The staff was very accommodating regarding pre booked dives and corresponding compensation.

Had the most incredibly experiance with Dive Point Zanzibar.
Everything from the communication prior to arrival to the teams support once there. Our son was planning to do the intro to diving only, however felt so at ease with the team he was happy to do full PADI open water. Zero pressure, safe, great equipment, fun and engaging team.
Boats are well equipped with drinks and snacks and the dive sites were all lovely with an abundance of sea life and knowledgeable dive instructors.
Highly recommend

One of the most customer service oriented dive shops I've ever experienced. This shop is located close to the Sunshine Marine Lodge and you have to WANT to dive in order to dive in Zanzibar. depending on the tide, you walk out on the beach over an exposed coral reef, on to a boat that brings you to their dive boat and it's about a 45 minute ride to the reef. Omar was the divemaster for our group of AOW divers. He's the best!! The shop sent a cab to pick me up and return to my hotel an hour away. evrything on the boat was taken care of. All I had to do was dive.

Excellent dive center. Good quality and well kept rental material. Impeccable organization in all aspects. Dive masters very professional, competent and perfect knowledgeable of the area. The boats functional and with friendly and attentive crews. The dives are not particularly complex, so it is perfect for all types of divers. We'll come back and hope to dive with Ibra again.

Top diving school! Picked up at hotel and made 3 X 2 dives. If goes very relaxed and friendly. The dive guide Ibra Nobody was a very nice relaxed man. You dive with at most 4 people. What is special is that because of the strong tides you have to go back via the beach by taxi bus. About 10 minutes drive. I personally have never experienced that in the last 25 years. The dive sites are amazing. Almost all of them made drift dives.

We booked this trip with Fishermans tours whilst staying at Ocean Paradise resort. The whole outfit is very good and well organised. We were taken by bus to a nearby beach and transferred to a lovely old wooden boat. We had 2 swims of 45 mins and in-between returned to the boat for drinks and fruit. We were able to jump in and swim off the boat in beautiful clear water. We saw a variety of fish and our guide was good at spotting interesting things to see although the coral is badly bleached. Having snorkelled quite a lot previously we did not feel inhibited by having a guide and being in a small group. Visibility was excellent, the water was amazingly tourquoise and clear and we had a great time. We were able to return to the centre directly from the boat as the tide was in which was good.

We booked three days of diving with Dive Point based at Sunshine Marine Lodge. Dive Point was well organized and their equipment was top notch overall, although we did have one faulty depth gauge that led to a deeper dive than intended. Even the crazy dhow style boats ended up being super comfy.
Our dive guide for two days was Omar and he was excellent. His English is great, he stuck with our group at all times and found a lot of great stuff that we might have missed not being familiar with the area. We had a different guide on day 3 (I can’t recall his name) and unfortunately he was sort of on his own doing his own thing in the water and he was not as interactive at surface. Seemed like a nice guy but definitely not Omar great!
One thing I would recommend is that the guides carry diving tools. We came across some derelict fishing gear (long line) that looked to still be killing fish on the reef but didn’t have the kit to remove it. Omar did move an anchor that a boat had dropped right on the coral and was dragging.
I would recommend divers get to Zanzibar asap as the diving is still great but the management of the atoll is zero. Too many boats, dolphin harassment, irresponsible anchoring etc. I don’t know how long the good diving will last. If you go, choose Dive Point and ask for Omar.

Our family dove with Dive Point during our stay in June. 3 of us are certified and enjoyed our dives. We appreciated the small groups and individual attention. The proximity to Mnemba dive sites was awesome and the dive shop was well organized. All of the staff were very friendly.
Our youngest son was scheduled to do his open water certification with Dive Point. He had private instruction and his teacher was very good with him. He loved his time in the pool with her. Sadly, he experienced seasickness and was not able to complete his open water dives. The team at Dive Point was understanding, flexible, patient and professional with this unfortunate change of plans.
We highly recommend Dive Point if you are coming to Zanzibar to dive.

We booked a snorkeling excursion to Mnemba Atoll, but it turned out to be a fairly choppy sea and the day and my son got severely sea sick even before we stopped for the dive. They quickly called for a smaller boat to return us to the shore and the staff there were also amazing in trying to help him get comfortable and even arranged a return transfer to our resort.

A diving center focused on customer experience. The team is excellent, enthusiastic and above all excellent guides. We did more than 10 dives, on sites so different from each other and each with its own character and discoveries. We will always have dived with the same DM who was excellent at showing us the beauties of this atoll and adapting to our interests. High class service, I would give 6 stars if it were possible.

good morning, we will stay in the east coast (sea cliff resort and spa hotel), mid january , i can see thart it is one hour driving from your center, how could we get to the center ? (by bus ? Do we have to book before coming ? Do you have an email adress for communicating ? THANKS

La température est d'environ 26 degrés, le climat est bon avec une température aux environs des 30 degrés pendant la journée. Il n'y a pas beaucoup de vent à cette période.

Bonjour, nous avons des excursions pour la demi-journée, nous nous retrouvons à 8:30 au centre.
Nous partons pour deux sessions de Snorkeling de 45 min à une heure. Entre les deux sessions, nous faisons un break avec des fruits frais, du gâteau et du thé.
Le Snorkeling coûte 40$.
Où allez vous séjourner à Zanzibar?

Bonjour, nous venons plonger à partir du 12 novembre prochain.
Petite question sur la température de l'eau à cette période ? Quelle épaisseur de combinaison faut-il prévoir ?
Pour ma part, je comptais amener mon détendeur et ma stab. Je sais que c'est prévu dans le pack voyage mais j'ai un peu peur de la qualité et la fiabilité du matériel. Pouvez-vous m'en parler svp.

Bonjour Françoise, la température de l'eau est entre 27 et 28 à cette époque de l'année. Si vous êtes frileux je vous recommande une combinaison longue 5mm. Sinon un shorty 5mm suffira. Concernant notre équipement, il est entretenu régulièrement mais il est toujours plus confortable de plongée avec son propre équipement.

Sorry for late feedback. Best month are definitely March, April and November.
For accommodation, we loved marine sunshine lodge, peaceful and beautiful place to stay :-), even if it is far from most a entertaining places of Zanzibar

Hello. Thank you for the message and interest in diving with us. We are open in April so you are most welcome to join us for diving. As for the weather in April it is very difficult to predict it. It is beginnig of the rainy season so you can expect rains but it shouldnt rain non stop. Usually the rains are short. The real rainy season is in May. Also very often is is ranining in the other parts of the island but Matemwe stays dry. In September the chance of rain is smaller than in April but as I said before weather is very difficult to predict.

J'hésite entre le sunshine Marine Lodge et le Sunshine hôtel. Est ce aussi pratique pour faire 3 ou 4 jours de plongée avec le Dive Point ?

Bonjour,
Pour moi "marina loge" est le plus pratique car le club est dans l'hôtel, et comme les départs pour la plongée se font fonction des marées il est plus pratique d'être sur place ce qui évite le transfert .
En plus l'hôtel est plus sympa, par contre un peu plus isolé si l'on veut aller au restaurant le soir on est un peu condamner à rester à l'hôtel.

venez aussi plonger à Sharm el Sheikh, c'est le moment il y a peu de monde, beaucoup de poissons et contrairement aux bêtises que racontent les médias ici tout est calme.
