This is a great place for artists of all kinds to come! My husband and I currently rent a studio space here and it's perfect for photo shoots! The staff is amazing and very friendly, plus they always have activities going on for artists and the community. They also let you have a space on their web page for your artwork, in addition to letting you hang/display your artwork across the building, which really gives freelancers the ability to have their artwork seen and purchased by the public! Amazing place! Can't say enough good things about it!

This is a great place to go for art tours, and to meet other people actually. I've been to art openings and they've had some of the best food brought in by other people. It's just a warm and friendly place.

We stopped by on a Sunday so parking was plentiful. The lot across from the entrance is not enforced on weekends that we are aware.
My wife is an artist so we were checking out possible competition if we decide to rent a space. They have all sorts of themes and styles. They have a very large entry but an empty floor that could be used better for display but I guess they use it for receptions and events.
The gallery is a bit of maze but a fun experience at every turn. I wish they had discount display areas for college students just getting started. It might be a good niche for their business. There is something for everyone. There are some bizarre sections like the leven portraits with big eyes but there's a market for that too, I guess.

We parked for free on the side street and there was entrance right there. There was also a parking lot across the street but you may need to pay there.
This place is in an older building. There is a central display area and then a number of corridors with many artists works on display. There is also a display area upstairs. Some artists were there working. We spoke to a few artists while were there. We expected this to be a quick stop but ended up spending a few hours. There is also a restaurant on site that we did not try.
There is no charge for this.

Dozens of photographers, artists, jewelry-makers, etc. show/create their works in this large converted space. The 4th Friday of each month is a great time to visit, but they're open all week, too. It's well worth taking the time to visit Art Works when you're in the Richmond area.

Down at the foot of the 14th Street Bridge before entering Shockoe Slip you will find this wonderful little gallery with talent for the Richmond area! Paintings, photography, crafts, jewelry and more are waiting for you to make them a home! A definite stop!!

The artwork is continually changing, so you can go often and see new works. They do a free reception with featured exhibits, music, and appetizers on the 4th Friday of each month. They hold workshops, rent studios, and you can rent different area for a special event. Awesome!

This is a wonderful gallery that is a hidden gem within the city of Richmond. Everyone should take the time to enjoy and appreciate the talents of our local artists.
