Beautiful area in Philadelphia. The houses are wonderful. This area is safe to go trough. Don’t need to spend a lot of time there because it’s not that big. The Architecture is very interesting.

Take a walk back in time, best thing is that it is free.
Take your time and enjoy the old streets and buildings.
Imagine yourself walking to your neighbors, church or cemetery.
Enjoy the architecture.
The majority of the homes are historic.
Some of the homes will have plaques or signs in the windows showing the date of the building. Truly inspiring.

My sister and I spent three days in Philadelphia and this was one of our favorite things. The neighborhood is a step back in time with old row houses, old churches and cemeteries. The old row houses have the original plaques of the company who provided fire insurance including some from the Ben Franklin company. There are two old cemeteries that have graves of people who fought in revolutionary war and other pivotal figures in our history.

We thought this section to be the most interesting part of downtown Philadelphia. The streets are clean, the row houses attractive and historical, and it has a real sense of pride and perspective. It’s also away from the hustle and bustle of the commercialized downtown.

I love walking around this part of town admiring the lovely architecture and wondering what it would be like to live here. Totally charming and totally historic.

I just LOVE this neighborhood!!! A little bit high end. Streets are clean. The residents take great care of their home & business. Love seeing those beautiful flower planters outside the buildings. It is just nice to take a walk in this neighborhood.

Staying at the Hilton Penn’s Landing and wandered into Society Hill. Well worth a walk through the beautiful streets (some cobbled), which take you back in time to a golden age of American history. Close by is the Independence museum and libert bell, so you can see a lot on foot. Ole ty of good places to eat and drink, especially the Irish pubs almost on every corner.

Society Hill really isn’t a hill any longer if it ever was. But the townhouses are wonderfully kept in mint condition. It is unimaginable that a structure built in 1778 still survives yet there they are. I would love to have gone inside one to see what they looked like. Although I am sure they have been remodeled. But to the outside kept to the period. The best part is that most of Philadelphia is a walking city. All that is needed to see is within blocks of each other.
Praise to Philadelphia’s desire to keep and maintain the brick sidewalks and architectural trueness of it’s city. Take a walk it is a pleasure

It is located right near Independence Hall. The tree lined streets are lovely and historical homes are beautiful. Many of the homes have historical placards. The building all have character. You will have a good time just wander around this area.
