Great place to learn some TX history
jan de 2020
We stopped by this museum at the urging of a local - Gov Moody prosecuted the KKK in Central Texas - and found the place to be informative and charming. We even lucked out and heard some storytelling as part of the museum's outreach - check and see what their programs are, and attend one if you can!

Proud part of Texas history

After visiting the new Equal Justice museum about slavery and the Jim Crow era I had to learn more about Gov Moody. He helped ‘break the back’ of the KKK in central Texas. Moody won a case where a white traveling salesmen was tarred and feathered by the clan in 1924.

Very well done!

This museum was the former home of Governor Dan Moody and his story is fascinating. By successfully prosecuting Ku Klux clan members, he changed the Texas landscape and promoted a more diverse culture throughout Texas. I think this museum will continue to enhance the culture of Taylor for many years to come. They even recently featured an art exhibit by a local and very talented artist from Hutto. This place is a must see!
