This wet pub is a warren of small rooms with two bars. Absolutely wonderful ancient brew pub. Six of their own real ales available to go. Featured in the Good Beer and Good Pub guides. A must for the real ale aficionado. Accommodation available. Doggy friendly obviously. 🇬🇧🇳🇿

Utterly brilliant traditional home-brew pub with long heritage. Great range of its own brewed beers, which were excellent.

Big outdoor area at rear.

Not to be missed if in Cornwall.

Proper English Pub with good atmosphere and friendly staff.
If you like real ale then this is the place to visit.
It is brewed in site and has three different strengths.
Able to buy in bottles for takeaway.

Remember this pub as one of the revered places that effectively kept real ale going in the pre-Camra days of the 70's. So I was glad to pay it a visit nearly 50 years later. Good range of Spingo ales and bags of atmosphere even in these dark Covid days. Should be on every ale lover's bucket list.

This 15th century pub with its historic fittings and thatched roof played a huge part in keeping proper ale going during the dark days of the 60's & 70's. So it was great to finally get here and enjoy a couple of the home brewed Spingo Ales. The bar is on the right side of the corridor when you enter whilst there are 2 separate rooms on the left side. Plenty of locals enjoying the beers during my visit, I shall definitely be returning, hopefully for a proper session.

Nice enough old pub but locals made us feel awkward and uncomfortable with comments and looks as we were sat by the fire. Such a shame.

Whilst on holiday in December and having to wait for the bus back to Porthleven we popped in for a drink. Lots of small snugs, we headed to the end of the corridor to a small room on the right with a lovely log fire burning. I had a mulled wine and hubbie tried the Springo beer which is brewed on the premises, it is the oldest brewery in Cornwall. Well worth a visit.

By the 1970's there were only four pubs left in the UK brewing there own beer, this was one of them and thankfully they continue to brew excellent ale on the premises. The pub it's self is a throwback to another age,but why change it, it works😁
