2nd time doing this and it was so much fun!! Definitely will continue to do this trip it's a blast! Fun for any ages, all of the guides are amazing. Ryan and Walter have been the best so far!

We booked the Big Eddy rafting trip. Ryan was great guide, I only wish we had more time on the water and more rapids, but I don't think Seventh Mountain offers anything longer.

Such a fun ride! The rapids are exciting and the river is beautiful. Our guide Walter was the best. This is a great activity for all ages.

Great trip. Guide was professional and safe. Rapids were fun. Easy trip to launch and back to the resort in a school bus.

Geotz (apologies if i misspelled, pronounced Getz) was amazing!!! Super friendly and knowledgeable. I recommend this fun little trip to anyone! Super family friendly.

The staff is outstanding! Katrina in the recreation building helped us get tubes rented and a pump so we could fit them in our car and float the river. The next day we went rafting and she again was just so helpful and friendly. Jay our bus driver was fun and got everyone excited about the trip. Carl got great photos, along with Jay. Jen was our guide and had a love of rafting and shared that with us. She made sure everyone felt comfortable and explained safety procedures and paddling commands as well as shared her many experiences with us. It was a blast and we were happy we chose Seventh Mountain! Jen also had plenty of great suggestions for other fun things to do in Bend.

During some years we are able to raft into the first week of October. October is an excellent hiking month, our staff will be happy to show you how to get to their favorite trails.

We will take solo paddlers. For this 2020 Covid season you would have a private trip as we are not mixing family groups. Our minimum fare is $220 which is good for up to 4 people. Hope this helps.

The Big Eddy section of the Deschutes has class 3 rapids. They are perfect for beginners and still provide a thrill for advanced rafters.

We are visiting in late June. How is the weather and water temp that time of the year? What time of the day do you suggest for a rafting trip?

You couldn't be visiting at a better time. Weather is amazing and the water is in the mid 50s. My favorite time of day is the 10am. The sun is directly overhead, the wind has not kicked up and there are no clouds or shadows. The peacefulness of the river in the morning energizes me for the whole day. The guides are also full of energy after a rest full night sleep. ;)
Seriously whatever you choose in late June you cant go wrong.

hi! how is the water in mid august? is it freezing? we are a group of 50somethings. I don't mind a little adventure, but just not too much! Would this be good for us? I've gone white water rafting before in Canada where the water was very very cold but we were given jackets... Thanks!

The water is great in August, it will be in the 50somethings. :) If you choose to go on the 10:00am triip you will be in the rapids about 11:00 when the sun is high and the afternoon breeze has not come up. or if you go at 2:30 you will be in the rapids about 3:30 and the heat of the day. Either way a trip in August is sure to be great.

Mid September is an excellent time to raft with us. Typically our last trips of the year are the first week of October. In September we offer three trips a day 11:00, 1:00 and 3:00. You will find that mid September we have warm / dry days and very few crowds. It is a great time to visit.

I have noticed that there is a 3 hour trip advertised in the area, how does your trip compare?

It's the same trip! Seventh Mountain Resort is located just a few miles from the river and the Big Eddy section. The 3 hour tour you see advertised includes transportation from Sunriver Resort. So if you would like to save a few dollars and have a much shorter bus ride please head out to Seventh Mountain Resort just 7 miles up Cascade Lakes Highway.

Our trips originate at Seventh Mountain Resort where there is ample parking, market and gift shop. The vast majority of our rafters find it easy and convenient to start there adventure at the resort. If you have a group and are looking for a special pickup please call our office and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
