We took a boat across to the sandbank on the other side of the estuary. Our friendly boatman showed us how they tracked, dug-out and caught the famous Golden Crabs of Odisha! Walked along the shoreline taking in the Bay of Bengal waves running up the sand, with the dunes blocking out the sun to the shore side. Sadly, an Olive Ridley turtle carcass was washed up on the shore. The evening light was beautiful. We returned after almost an hour.
If you're looking for a quiet walk in the surf and sand all by yourself, remember you have to take a boat to the mouth of the river and then walk on the other side of the sandbank. There's even a pre-wedding shoot point up on the dune there!

Ramachandi beach is on the Marine drive from Konark to puri which is 7 km away from Konark and 25 km from Puri. Ramachandi beach is the one of the beautiful beach of Odisha situated on the Junction of River Kusabhadra and Bay of Bengal. This beach named after goddess Rama chandi and this beach is located just back side to Ramachandi temple.
This Beach is Famous for:
1. Unlike most beaches, this beach is very isolated, clean and prestine beach where the water is not so turbulent.
2. This beach is famous for Sun rise and Sun set. Most interesting fact about this spot is the sunset and raising moon can be visualized here at a time
3. Due to a gradual slope of this beach the high waves are not formed here and keeps this beach perfect for Boating and water activities
4. The Unique specaility of this beach is one can go the Island like place present here by boat. One side of Island lies the Bay of Bengal and on another side there is the Kusabhadra river which looks really super.
5. A number of artistic sand arts are created and showcased in this beach during Ramachandi Festival
6. Godess Ramachandi temple is adjusent to this beach which gives a devotional atmosphere
Best time to Visit:
During Ramachandi festival which is in between Sep-Oct Every year. During this festival time, Beach is having full of activities including Surfing, Sailing, water skiing and motor boating.

Basically this is a Picnic Spot, where you can make your food and have it with family and friends. Utensils and other materials are available here at a price nominally higher rate which would not be a bad deal considering the comfort. Many shops and restaurants are also there.

Beautiful scenic beauty. There is lotus resort, it's waterfront grill restaurant s good. Try only sea food. Beautiful beach. Must stop while going to konark

This is located almost on the mid way of Puri and konark.
It is one of the safest beach that I have visited.

A beach with some activities for the family- stalls (both souvenirs and food) along with jet skiing and ATV trips. However, the beach wasn't that clean with lots of litter and the water hardly crystal clear.

We were staying near the Ramchandi beach so we got to see the beautiful sunsets. It is near the backwaters so there are boats which will take you out. The sea was pretty rough so we didn’t swim.

Backside of the Ramachandi Temple, this is quiet and not-so-happening beach but the views are awesome. Boating options are there.

This place is on the way from Konark to Puri at a 10-15 minute drive from konark. It houses a temple also and a small local market. One can do various water sports here. It is an area where a local river meets the bay of bengal.

Can we do a feast at ramchandi?
Yes. Hiring facility for gas stove and cookware available. There are cashew groves where you can set up your picnic.

Options for accomodation on the beach like cottage or bamboo house kind of less crowdy place? ? Charges shd b max 2000rs per night for 2 ? Pointers vil b appreciate. .

Hello,
Per my knowledge there's no accommodation adjacent to the beach at that price point. Lotus resort which is next to Ramachandi is at least 3 times more expensive compared to your budget. I suggest you stay at OTDC Konark which is a few kilometers away and not too high above your budget -- autos are available at early hours as well - so stay at OTDC and grab an auto and come over to Ramachandi to spend tranquil mornings.. perfectly doable..
