I visited several art galleries in Yangon. My favorite was Taw Win. They have 3 galleries in Scott Market. The employees are very knowledgeable and helpful. The art is really good quality. Prices are reasonable. Some of the artists they represent are very well known. I went one day. After looking at other galleries around town on day 2, I went back and bought more at Taw Win.

A Friend of my wife’s recommended Taw Win gallery after visiting a number of years ago and a specific Burmese artist in particular. The staff at Taw Win were particularly knowledgeable on the artist and his students and the up and coming artists. They will be in Ion Gallery Singapore later in November if you happen to be in Singapore which is where artists can get more international exposure. They ship intentionally if you need that. Would recommend Taw Win 100%.

Don’t let the location and the way the paintings are presented fool you. They have real nice paintings from Myanmar artists, but it’s a mix of ‘just nice’ things and really good ones. The latter are pricy, but artists are getting known outside the country and that influences the prices. You are very welcome as a visitor and they will gladly show you and explain about the artists without any pressure to buy. They have 2 shops in Bogyoke, visit them both, they are quite close together.

While there are some nice paintings here, I found the prices high and the quality uneven. In my travels through Myanmar, I have found the price of paintings much, much higher than in Cambodia or Vietnam. Dollar for dollar and painting for painting, I could not even warm up to one piece here. It felt a bit like shopping in Europe.

We stumbled onto this art gallery upon visiting Bogyoke Aung San Market and practically didn't get out of it. Not only it is stocked with amazing paintings by local Myanmar artists with distinctive styles, the prices are very affordable to non-high-end art lovers like me. Zed, who owns and runs the 2-storey galleries (there's at least 3 in the market), is patient in explaining the different paintings and open to price negotiation. I was chuffed to buy my first painting by an established Asian artist here at just US$90, while another friend bought a bigger piece that could fit in any modern European gallery. Highly recommended if you love art at friendly-to-your-pocket prices.

This is such a delightful find. Didn’t know about it and certainly didn’t expect to go and linger there for the better of an hour we were given at Bogyoke Market.
I’ve never been a fan of commercial art galleries although I’m a lover of art galleries in every city. But Taw Win is one place I’ll return. There is a wide array of styles of local Myanmese artists and the works are high quality. Prices range from very affordable to out of reach and as many have commented, they are negotiable. If you’ve always wanted to own an original painting but prices have been out of reach, this is the place to go.
Good to note that there are several Taw Win art galleries in the market. The one on the second floor nearer the bridge sells only original paintings. There’s one on the ground floor that sells adaptations and non originals at a fraction of the price. So whatever you need, you ought to be able to find it here.

Shopping in the market and entered this gallery.
They were quite helpful and explained the artists and their medium.
Liked a painting and not quite sure it would fit in the place I wanted to place.
I have been in contact with the gallery but it takes a while for email response.

This gallery offers art for consumers of all budgets (weekend backpacker to higher end collector). Zatt and his family have created a comfortable environment to not buy and browse art. I would, and do, recommend Taw Win Art Gallery to anyone that enjoys and appreciates art.

This bustling gallery captures the spirit of Myanmar with a vivid assortment of works by local artists. Don't be put off by the wide range of styles hung side by side. Spend some time evaluating individual works on their own merit. Ask the owners to move pieces to see an artists' work as a single piece. Prices are negotiable and a very good value. The owners are very helpful and knowledgeable, with a true desire to enrich your appreciation of the Myanmar art scene. Excellent customer service. Spend some time and have a discerning eye and this might be your best (and lasting) travel experience in this charming country!

Have visited the gallery accidentally and would have been sorry not to had the luck to discover it. You can find very nice paintings of in Myanmar well knowned artist and newcomers. It’s a family bussines,and you can feel it by the way they are treating you . Negociation is part of the visit ,but the powerfull paintings aint gonna give much space to deal.
