Good serious friendly outfit
Duarte and his team are so thorough and patient. Really great on safety too. Great teachers, conscientious. We were also struck by the fact that he didn’t charge us when we got to the beach and the waves weren’t good so we drove back.

Lovely surfsession!
Duarte was so nice and chill. First he’s teaching some basic thing you need to know before going into the water, then you practice on the sand and when you get away with the standing up, You’ll go to the water. I was in a group of 3 people, so Duarte taught us individually some tips to keep getting beter. He kept us calm and motivated us when we went under water 😅 I really enjoyed it & highly recommand him! Easy communication, clear explanation, so chill.

Worst surfing experience of my life.

Worst surf lesson my family has ever had. Please save your money and book with anyone else. 1.5 hours of Duarte talking. We were not allowed to paddle to catch a wave. He would only push us in white wash towards shore. We have experience and was hoping my kids would learn something. This lesson may have turned them away from surfing. Please book with anyone else.

You are funny, everyone from the all group on the lesson have fun and learn a lot. I just wish your children don’t become the same like you. And I copy from Airbnb a review from a person that was on the lesson and did the all lesson. I will not explain more what happened and what you did because honestly you don’t deserve my consideration at all. hope you get better because probably you are having problems and want to make the life of the other bad as yours. From Timo on Airbnb “ Excelente and very professional coaching, if you really want to learn properly, this is the experience you’ll want to go with. All arrangements were also flawless”

In mei 2022 heb ik meermaals surflessen gevolgd bij Duarte. Hij is super bekwaam en zit vol passie om je het surfing vak bij te brengen. De instructies en tips/ tricks waren duidelijk en daardoor leer je snel. Voor surflessen in de Algarve moet je zeker bij Neptunos zijn!

Well structured and passionate teaching

I learned in the 3-4 hours lesson with Duarte more than in all 5 times surfing before (combined!) including two lessons.

I think it is because
a) the lesson was very well structured. We took it step by step, starting at the beach, then in the water Duarte pushed us into the waves.
b) Duarte keeps one engaged and motivated with his passionate and humourous way.

Truly unforgettable surfing experience

Duarte is a phenomenal coach who is passionate about all things surfing. He is totally engaged in everything he is saying, teaching and showing. In one day my wife and I went from basically 0 surf experience to riding dozens of waves, with a little help of course. What we learned in a few hours from Duarte has got us both hooked. We will keep surfing, keep learning, and we will for sure be back to the Algarves for more lessons with Neptunos Surf School!

Learn to really surf!

Duarte is very passionate, and provides a personal approach for learning you to surf.
A big advantage of working in small groups is that he is able to focus on you individually, and correct you were needed.

My girlfriend and I wanted to try surfing on our holiday.
I had already "some experience" from a surf camp, while she had none.
I can honestly say I learned more in a day with Duarte then from a week on surf camp.
He had to correct my "technique", but at the end of the day I was able to make a lot of progress.
As for my girlfriend, she had her doubts in her capabilities but enjoyed it very much and was able to surf as well.

We only had 1 day of lessons, but we will definitely return!

We surfed three times with Duarte during our week stay in the west Algarve.

Absolutely loved it!

Duarte is a cool guy. So passionate about surfing and 100% committed to getting the best from his students. I felt I progressed so much in three lessons.

Perfect group size 3/4 persons. The beaches beautiful.

With Duarte's expertise and teaching you'll have the best chance of catching wave after wave after wave and developing a solid technique.

In summary... Totally hooked and can't wait to return! :D

Here you really learn surfing

Me and my daughter had private lessons with Duarte for the 4th time. The reason for it is very simple: he is the best 😊 Honestly - if you really want to learn surfing and if you want to improve you will get feedback on every wave you catch (or don’t catch 😉) and he will help you catching many waves in order to help you to build up routine.
I would recommend Duarte strongly for both, absolute beginners and “professional beginners” 😊

Second time I surfed with Duarte! He is the best teacher I have ever had! He gives a lot and honest feedback which makes you a beter surfer! He is really dedicated to give you the best experience for your level of surfing! I will come back defenitly!
