I purchased a ring made by Alessandro and I am so happy with it. The level of detail and quality is very obvious. If you are looking for something unique in Rome, do not hesitate to visit this shop!! Also as a side note Alessandro kindly had the ring resized for me and dropped it of at my hotel.. Excellent service

My wife and I ended a two-week trip to Italy with a four-night stay in Rome. We stayed at Margutta 19, a great little hotel on Via Margutta. This is a quiet street in a neighborhood traditionally inhabited by artists. The street continues to honor its history as it is still lined with galleries and design studios. Located at Via Margutta 57 is the lovely little jewelry store Serra. Serra specializes in Roman coin pendants and rings amongst other beautifully curated antiques. Alessandro, the owner, was very gracious and explained the history behind every object that caught our eye. I highly recommend visiting Serra if you want a special piece of history that will remind you of your visit to Rome. In doing so, you will support a unique, third generation, independently owned business which continues to shine amongst the ever-expanding homogenization of the retail marketplace.

Before coming to Rome I had researched some unique places where i wanted to go and Serra was one of them. We were intrigued by the ancient coins remade into beautiful jewelry which were very different to anything we have seen before. I really wanted to get a pendant for myself and though It was very difficult to choose amongst the various denarii, i found the perfect one at the end. I really appreciate the storytelling and the amount of interesting facts we were told about the origin of the coins. This forever remains the most meaningful souvenir of all and a beautiful memory as well. Thank you for your artistic approach and a piece of history brought back to life. I couldn't recommend paying a visit more!

I’ve been meaning to get to this place for a couple years and finally did. I brought my own Roman coin my wife bought me last Christmas and they were able to mount in 18k gold so it could be worn as a charm on my necklace without damaging the coin. It came out better than expected, absolutely beautifully, and was completed the same day for pickup! All of this and for a very reasonable price. The jeweler and shop keeper were so unbelievably friendly and helpful as well. When I came back a few hours later to pick up the piece they had printed me up some sheets on the history of that specific coin as well as sitting down and going over that and other Roman coins in general with me in English. They were so knowledgeable and made the experience even better than expected. Before leaving they even gave me a recommendation for a wonderful little restaurant called Edy’s with phenomenal hand made tagliatelle and outdoor tables on an adorable little street right around the corner. 11/10 would recommend. Will 100% return.

Alessandro was beyond gracious in talking about his years in California and the special coin bracelet we purchased for my wife's birthday. He spent the time in explaining the history of his work and the coin we ultimately purchased. The shipping to our home address was flawless. We highly recommend when visiting Rome to stop in his shop and enjoy his very unique artwork.

I returned to the Serra boutique after seeing online some rings made with magnificent Roman carnelian intaglios! I had already purchased, a few years ago, a beautiful pendant with a Roman republican coin, but these small masterpieces engraved about 2000 years ago, left me truly amazed. I gave my mother, for her 70th birthday, a ring with a Victory intaglio on carnelian... she was amazed and delighted! Thanks to the owners, for their kindness and incredible knowledge about Roman mythology and history!

Before heading to Rome I researched online where to find beautiful handcrafted jewelry created with Roman coins, Serra was at the top of the list. This small elegant store did not disappoint.
Serra is located near the Spanish Steps down a charming side street. When I arrived there was a sign saying they were closed. As you can imagine I was disappointed. Luckily I noticed a number on the sign and called. Alessandro, the distinguished and delightful owner, greeted me in mere minutes.
Alessandro was knowledgeable, patient, and extraordinarily kind. He shared information about each of the beautiful pieces in which I was interested. It was a difficult choice because each pendant and bracelet was unique, stunning, and had such wonderful stories. I finally decided on a pendant with Hadrian and bracelet with Roma.
As I was leaving Alessandro gave me a nice paperweight with the Artists Fountain on it as a thank you gift. The Fountain itself was a few doors down from Serra. I stopped at the Fountain to fill my water bottle before heading to my next adventure.
My pendant and bracelet are such amazing pieces that will forever remind me of Rome and my lovely experience at Serra.
I have already received compliments on my jewelry. I am looking at the website for my next piece of history and art.

I was in Rome with my wife celebrating her birthday (we live in New York). I was increasingly desperate to find a nice gift before time ran out until our Italian friend mentioned a jeweller with a store on Via Margutta who makes pendants using ancient Roman coins. I power-walked over the next morning and met Alessandro in his store, Serra. He is an enthusiastic coin collector and he gave me a mind blowing presentation of coins, explaining the history of these artifacts from two thousand years ago. I selected a coin with Apollo (god of beauty, culture, and arts) on one side and Minerva (goddess of strategic warfare) on the other - perfect for my wife, who has had a long and illustrious career in the fashion industry! I gave it to her and she loves it. So, thank you Alessandro for helping me find something special for my beloved wife! I highly recommend visiting Serra if you are interested in finding a special memento of your Rome adventure. I had an excellent experience that in just twenty minutes (I was in a hurry, lol) was far above and beyond a simple exchange between proprietor and customer. And now I have this beautiful piece in my life from 48 BC. GRAZIE MILLE

Absolutely wonderful experience! Alessandro is the 3rd generation owner of this shop and his knowledge of ancient Roman coins is astonishing. My girlfriend and I each bought once in a lifetime pieces. A pendant for her and a ring for me.

I highly recommend this store and the proprietor Alessandro. He has a beautiful selection of ancient coin jewelry and Roman artifacts.
