This place seemed be like a club. Loyalty card system in place here.Large open area with a kitchen and servers within the pub. Pool and darts TV's for sports fans. There was a dog running free when we arrived.smoking area at the rear. Service at the bar was good.

The Three Cups has a friendly atmosphere with the aim for entertainment. With its contemporary beer garden and live sports it's enough to keep you entertained. There's often live bands on over the weekend and overall an enjoyable pub to visit.

I would never visit the place again, even with a new landlord, because the customers seem to run riot and that appears to just be the culture in this sort of establishment. As others have commented, the staff (including who I think was the landlord) can be rude and uninviting unless you're one the regulars. Extremely loud characters inside who had probably had excess alcohol, with conversation that often seemed aggressive and would make a caveman sound intelligent. The garden has the most obnoxious lights that shine at you and constantly change colour, and some kind of sign about language and behaviour which is simply not enforced. Mind the mountain of cigarette ends on the pavement outside as you leave. My advice, avoid this place.

Well, where do I start ? Made to feel welcome immediately by the barmaid and the landlord. Not to mention the lovely dog that was staying at pub whilst it's owner was away.
Very much a sports orientated pub,and was asked which game I'd like to watch, from the many screens showing European footy games that night. Amazing 👍
Landlord was happy for me to borrow his darts, although, I didn't scare the board too much.
For me, as someone who wandered in that night , prior to working in Folkestone the following day, I have to say the hospitality offered to me was lovely.
I'll finish by saying, this is the first time I've ever
posted a review for a pub. This alone, should speak volumes.

Lovely pub, but awful landlords. They belittle people, speak to people with no respect. They have no consideration for people that pay for a service, the man that works behind the bar is disgusting in the way he treats people, also been none for speaking down to a person for their disability. They have mouths like sewers. I wouldn't put them in charge of a zoo let alone a pub. My advice would be too stay away from the three cups pub.

I have been a local to the Cups for many years, In this time i have seen a few landladies/landlords, with the presence of the new landlady and landlord the cups has turned around for the better.
It has a selection of various drink's, Pool and darts area great for the family.
The place is clean with the staff helpful and friendly.
Would recommend this place to anyone any day of the week.

We went to the three cups for lunch we were made to feel very welcome the couple behind the bar only a young couple were very welcoming the beer was great as was the food looks like they have a lot going on there were alot of trophies that they had won
The places it's self was lovely and clean and when in the area again will be heading straight back

Been living in dover all my life and drank in the tree cups and it was not my cup of tea but since the new landlady and landlord took over the place has been transformed.

After moving back to dover, I thought I'd try out some local pubs. I had visited the three cups a few years ago and had a nice dinner there, so optimistically walked up.. Big mistake.
Obviously, we are in Dover so the clientele is going to leave much to be desired, but I don't expect to actually worry about my safety. The bar staff let the customers go wild, without any respect for those there with an IQ over 50. There were tables of questionably young teenagers, drinking, screaming disgusting things. Not a nice atmosphere at all.
Unless you're a lout or have ever been on the Jeremy Kyle show, I'd give this pub a miss. I consider myself working class but I felt like a Windsor being next to some of those people.
Staff- control your customers, don't let them ruin it for others. Also, terrible watery pint! 0 out of 5, never again.
