I was here for work and needed a break so decided to wonder around as i had never been here before. Completely wowed by the beauty of the area I found myself walking up a mini hill after the pier I have no idea where it was but the views for a city girl like me were breathtaking, even on a cloudy day!

I parked in the Spyway NT carpark (small and very bumpy road up to it) and then walked through fields to Dancing Ledge (steep downhill) which was interesting to see. After that I followed the cliff path up and down to Winspit Quarry and then inland to Worth Matravers and finally past the quarries inland back to the car park (circa 7.5 miles round trip).
The views on the walk were great in al directions and it was very quiet , probably only saw 10 others during entire walk, and despite being up and down was a relatively easy walk. Highly recommended unless wet and cold as it was very exposed on cliff top

The village pub at Worth Matravers is a great stop off for drinks and pasties and there is a pleasant walk around the village.

We walked from Langton, across farmland and over the top of the cliffs, and made the steep descent down the grassy cliff face to The Dancing Ledge. An interesting place where Purbeck Stone was mined from quarries driven into the cliff face and where stone is still excavated and worked in small holdings nearby.
There is small pool blasted into the flat ridge of rock where a headteacher made his young charges swim naked each day. He was it seems a strange chap. Not sure after that descent I would have much energy left for a naked swim in a cold sea pool.
The climb back up was by a slightly different route and even more testing on the knees and balance, for an old chap like myself; but I have to say, really well worth the effort. A beautiful place and a good testing climb both up and down.

We walked roughly 10-12 miles along this coastline every day, taking in different areas and it was absolutely stunning. We hope to do it again next year.

Beautiful sunny cool Sunday spent exploring here for the first time . Incredible views of the sea spreading nearly 180 degrees - can almost see the earths curve. Amazing rock formations.

We parked at Spyway NT car park (we are members) & took the walk to Dancing Ledge thought the paths & fields.
A Sunny but cold day.
Once at Dancing Ledge we walked around & explored the quarry, watching the climbers etc.
From here we walked the costal path towards Worth Matravers & then back to Langton Matravers.
Probably in all about a 6mile circular walk, that was neither difficult or easy.
Given the weather we have recently had it was very wet.

Fantastic in all weather but for different reasons. When wet it can be hazardous to reach but worth it. The area gets quite busy at weekend's. The views are stunning.
