Great! Wonderful! Fantastic National Park!
nov de 2019 • Amigos
Djerdap National Park (Iron Gates National Park) is located in the Danube Region as a border between Serbia and Romania. We visited the Serbia river bank and it was really wonderful! on road you can see fantastic views of the Danube River and the Romanian zone: we stopped each 5 minutes to take photos. Also, in the Serbian zone, you can see some sightseeing points like Trajan's Bridge, Diana Roman Fort Djerdap Dam or Golubac Fortress in the surroundings of the park. Also, we did a hikking in the park after obtain an authorization in the turist information in Donji Milanovac. The hikking was great and the views and lookout really charming! (we went to Veliki Strbac). One of the best natural places in Serbia. Top in our trip around all country!

On our river boat trip up the Danube we spent some time in this spectacular park. The fall leaf color made it an enjoyable visit!

Natural wonder
ago de 2019
We definitely did not regret long way coming here. Donji Milanovac is a great base to visit most of places, there is also NP info centre. The town itself is pleasant with a nice little beach if you want to try Danube sunbathing. I guess summer is the best time of year to visit Djerdap as you can opt many activities that are not available in other times. If you want to go trekking to NP, you just need to pay 250 RSD per person in NP info centre. You don't need to arrange a guide/ranger, you can wander independently no problem. Just be aware most of signs along the road are in Serbian/cyrillic (study your path well in advance) and there's lots of mosquitoes. There is convenient base to start a trek on the main road 25 km from D. Milanovac towards Kladovo. Views from Ploće (1h) are breathtaking, but you can also hike to Mali or Velik Štrbac (4h). If you're not a fan of trekking, you can also take a boat ride along the Danube at the same base 10 EUR per person. In short, there's lots of activities and you won't be disappointed coming here if you like nature.

Amazing view!

Really good and nice place. Beautiful views, we got good info from the info center at donji milanovac. There you can also buy the ticket. You can hike on your own and don’t need a guide. They have a good map at the info center. We did the 7.6 km hike to the peak of veliki strabk - amazing! You can also set your tent near the enterance and do free camping at the water. We had a perfect two day trip!
