Anse la Raye looking a little tired and sadly Fish Fryday has not happened since well before covid! Some pretty painted houses but the beach is a bit dirty. Left early for Gros Isle!!

This was a beautiful fishing village and we drove by the waterfront and our tour guide showed us the local fisherman and their way of living. it was a cute little village.

My boyfriend and I passed through this very cute unique little town and we had to stop by to see the colourful fishing boats. Everyone was absolutely friendly and just happy to be out and about. We didn’t not feel threaten or out of place. We had a 7 day vacation planned and we extended our stay to 31 days. We travelled the entire island and everyone here is just lovely and welcoming. They truly appreciate tourist.

Anse la Raye is a hidden gem... a $2 bus ride to both Castries and Gros Islet..
The Friday night fish fry is a great time and for $2 you can go to gros islet street party..
Anse la Raye is a quaint fishing village with the least expensive places to stay with fantastic people..

My wife and I stayed at the Ti Kaye resort in January.
It's a delightful spot: a really nice resort with a central reception and breakfast/dining area and a lovely beach with super clear water. The accommodation is in several cabins each with its own privacy and a short walk from the central area. The whole resort is set on the cliffs overlooking the beach which is down steps.
There's a new chef and the food was terrific and the wine list exceptional.
We'd love to return

Nous avons passés par là lors de notre visite sur l'ile. C'est un sympathique village de pêcheur en bord de mer. On y fait un arrêt toilette et il y a des marchands qui y vendent des souvenirs de l’île.

When traveling to St Lucia by cruise ship this is my favorite beach to visit. It is a 30 minute walk from downtown or 20 minutes from the cruise terminal across the harbor. If you want a lonely visit walk to the roundabout and enter the beach area next to an exclusive resort. There are no chairs or umbrellas on the public part of the beach. Despite the fact that there is no snorkling my wife and I enjoyed the solitude, water, and views. If you want a more populous part of the beach turn left at the airport road and walk to the end. There you will find a bar, chairs, umbrellas, and restrooms. The waves were bigger at this part of the beach but still fun. No matter which part of the beach you visit it is still more interesting than any of the beaches the taxis want you to visit.

Called in for a short visit when driving along the west coast. Nothing extra special apart perhaps the 'murals' along the wall near the church. Some street stalls offering the usual kind of items, but one lady did manage to find a couple of folding fans we had been looking for.

The beach was gorgeous! Quiet, peaceful and breathtaking! I could not get enough of this view! Cant wait to come back!

We passed through daily and it is a place of contrasts. It is very poor and many approached wanting handouts, young, old, drunk, sober even the dogs all wanted something. Most were not too pushy but still not fun. The folks we approached and talked to were friendly and helpful. None were threatening. We went to the Friday fish fry which seemed like a bust. Maybe it got lively later but it was pretty dead while we were there. The food was good and very reasonable. I got some nice sunset photos and would have loved to photograph the people and the buildings but it seemed that they would not like it so I didn't try.
