Chris is the star of the show here during the whole experience, and it would have been great to see even more of him and learn more about the bush and his incredible hard work and efforts put into creating the whole space. The dining area was beautiful.

We felt that the afternoon was enjoyable, but we didn't leave with a great feeling overall.

The tasting menu experience is actually the 'Lisa Show' and an opportunity for ego massage and showboating rather than a deep dive into the culinary excellence of Jamaica.

Morsels of food were good, but not mouthwateringly delicious and there's some confusion over course structure with a hearty filling soup served late into the day, prosecco towards the end rather than pre-dinner and an impossibly sweet finishing course.

Lisa is a powerful woman, not to be caught on the wrong side of. Whilst she asks for feedback, it isn't welcomed and it's unfortunate that anything offered is rebuked with Chef style arrogance that it couldn't possibly be a Stush area of improvement; it must be the inferior guest palette.

If you opt for the wine pairing course be prepared for it to be a sobering one. Wines are poured sparingly and despite requesting more from waitresses who were willing to pour another glass, the buck stops with Lisa who took offence and continued to limit the intake. I am not sure why this was a policy, but it made the experience much less enjoyable.

The walk into the gardens by Chris is very warm and inviting, his gentle and uplifting spirit is a joy to be around and I am sure there is plenty more Chris would be able to share with guests.

There is a cabin on site, but it is very expensive for what it is.

The breakfast was very good, and the star of the dining experience.

Overall, the experience is pretentious, expensive, underwhelming and we left feeling like we had to tip toe round a controlling chef rather than feel relaxed and welcomed into the space.

Of all the time we have spent in Jamaica over the past 8 years, this was the first time we felt the complete lack of 'one love'.
There is much work to do here.

What an amazing organic vegan dining experience, curated in the hills of St Ann by Chris and Lisa Binns! Hardcore meatlovers (like me), prepare to be surprised, you won't miss the meat and you'll be very FULL at the end of all the courses. Vegan food doesn't have to be boring, Stush In The Bush is proof of that, and the place's chill bush/farm vibe is A+!

While very pricey, worth a visit if you love good food. The farm is lovely with some nicely designed spaces including the patio, dining room and the platform overlooking the valley. There a number of large dogs free to walk around, which we loved, but just keep in mind if you're taking someone who does not like dogs. There were adorable puppies too when we went.

The food was quite amazing all the way up until the main course. Lots of wonderful appetizers and pre-mains that will leave you wanting more, but save room. There was quite the long gap between the end of the appetizers and the start of the more formal meal. Which helped get you hungry again, but be ready for that. We expected to be finishing up around 5, but the sit down dinner didn't start until close to 6pm. You can't rush deliciousness, I suppose.

The only disappointment was the main course as it lacked any protein to speak of. It would've been a great accompaniment to a nice steak or fish (not that you could get one) but something was missing. Those who went with the pizza seemed a bit more satisfied. Luckily dessert picked up the slack.

You can go for a short walk around the farm and learn about the various things they are growing or just hang out and enjoy the views. Nice and cool up there after the heat of Ocho Rios.

You can BYOB but there is a corkage fee. The price is very steep, but you are paying for the entire experience. You won't eat this good down in the city. Just be prepared with enough cash to cover.

Be prepared for different experience. It was totally different from what we envisioned! Was not just a meal at a restaurant but a thoroughly enjoyable culinary and educational experience lasting some five and a half hours!

Starting with the ride from where we parked on a narrow road, some seated in Chris’ pickup cab, the rest in the bed, it was quite the journey. A quick visit to a pinnacle with an absolutely amazing 360 degree view of the north coast of Jamaica, and then a short ride on a bumpy road to the farm where we met his wife Lisa and their friendly dogs.

We had some lovely lemongrass and ginger juice and saw the extensive menu. What should we choose? We did not realize that we were to have everything on the menu and we did not have to choose.

Suffice it to say that everything is vegan but as a confirmed carnivore, I certainly enjoyed the meal(s).

The menu is based on availability and much of what os served is from their farm. We were briefed on what each dish was before we started each course. For starters we had plantain chips, very delicious and different jerk pumpkin chips, breadfruit chip, avocado hummus, plantain ceviche, amongst a few other dishes with there home made condiments and pepper sauce. All good!

Then we had a little tour of the farm with interesting anecdotes about the plants and trees.

Then we were seated in a rustic but comfortable dining room for the main course.

Needless to say it was the most creative meal I have ever had. Included appetizer, soup, main of vegan crab cakes and potato, vegan bread and butter, avocado sorbet, and three lovely desserts.

You can see the passion of loving what they do from these two people come through in the quality of the absolutely delightful food that they serve. The hosts are two of the most genuine, likable and interesting people I have ever met.

Remember, I am not vegan but I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience!

A must do if you are on the north coast of Jamaica.

Sushi in the Bush is a vegetarian restaurant that features food from farm to table. I am a carnivore by nature but this is a dining experience not to be missed. It is run by husband and wife couple, Chris and Lisa, at their home on farm in the hills of St Ann, Jamaica. They literally take you into their home and spare no effort in making their guests feel welcome. I honestly feel that this is a one of a kind culinary experience and is not to be missed for anyone seeking to enjoy the best of Jamaican food and hospitality.

Free Hill as the home of Stush in the Bush and as the name suggests is truly a “freeing experience” As you take in the breathtaking views not to mention the ambiance of and care and love that goes in the preparation for our visit which is evident on arrival you can’t but feel Special. Where our host Lisa presents the meal with knowledge and respect and love for the art of eating healthy and tasty food her husband Chris presents the farm with as much or even more appreciation of Mother Earth and what she affords us. From the blue mahoe tree to the compost to the small sucklings that we returned to the earth through planting this was an amazing experience. You left this space feeling truly “free” Free to love ... Free to embrace our earth and Free to care for each other ... Thank you Chris & Lisa and your stafff for sharing your LOVE

The very warm welcome from Chris and Lisa set the tone for a wonderful afternoon in the countryside of Jamaica. Based high in the mountain of St Anne, this couple have carved out a culinary experience based around what they grow on their farm and the use of local produce.

The tour of the farm had just the right detail, timed well to enjoy the stroll and learn about Jamaican organic farming.

It seems a bit pricey at first but the food experience was what you would expect in a high class restaurant so this made it good value for money. We were very impressed with the different things you could do with a carrot! We are eagerly waiting for Lisa’s cookbook which we hope she writes.

The experience could make me go vegetarian!

A great afternoon.

Hubby and I visited for our 3rd Anniversary. We've been wanting to visit for a while and we're so glad we finally did! It's more than a restaurant... it's a total culinary experience that engages all the senses and the heart. Our day started with Chris meeting us to take us to the highest point in Free Hill, the town in which Stush in the Bush is located. Lovely panoramic view. It can get a little chilly and rainy, so you may want to carry a light sweater. Back at our meeting point, we're introduced to Lisa, the other half of this dynamic duo and introduced to our food -- a lovely spread of tasty bites. Our favourites: jerk pumpkin chips and pumpkin hummus! Afterward, Chris took us on a tour of the farm and shared his knowledge about local herbs and fruits and medicinal properties, some things I didn't know and I've lived in Jamaica all my life. After the tour, it's lunch time! It was a shared experience with the friends we just made on the tour. It's food and veggies like you've never had before. The menu is curated for you and reflective of what's in season. Each course is specially introduced. You feel the love and thoughtfulness and artistry that goes into each dish.
Definitely check them out! You'll leave with your heart and tummy full!
