We enjoyed a flight into Mount Cook region and had the luck that Mark was our pilot. He explained us the route and the mountains. A wonderful and passionate pilot! Thank you very much for such a wonderful tour! Highly recommended.

The whole set up is just great and they really look after the guest from start to finish. They make it easy to understand the individual options, have a laugh you overcome any potential tension (first time helicopter flight ...), the little cafe has nice food, drinks and ice cream with a sunny terrace to wait while watching other groups fly in and out. Of course there is the spectacular scenery from high above and the flight itself is amazing. What makes it memorable is the team and most noteworthy Liam who is such a gentle, knowledgeable and funny guy - thank you. All the best for you guys.

This is a great helicopter ride! The views are amazing. It is the best way to see Mt Cook and the surrounding peaks. I felt like I was at the top of Mt Everest when we landed at the top.

The Helicopter Line shares space in a building with the Glentanner Park office. We arrived at Glentanner in the afternoon and the weather was just dreadful. It was very windy, raining just a bit and the clouds were so low you couldn’t see any of the mountains. By all reports, the weather was supposed to greatly improve by the next day, so we took a chance and booked the “Mountains High” tour for the next morning at 9:00 am. We chose “Mountains High” because the less expensive tours didn’t include Mount Cook. It was more than we wanted to spend, but decided it was sort of a once-in-a-lifetime thing. We absolutely made the right decision; we couldn’t have been happier. The next day opened to a calm day with sunshine and a gorgeous blue sky. We were to meet at the office at 8:30, so we walked over from our campsite. The helicopters take off from landing sites just next to the reception area. The four of us shared the helicopter with another couple and we took off right on time. We flew up over the Tasman Lake and up to our landing on the snow. According to our pilot, the landing spot was at about 8,000 feet. The views were just stunning. We had plenty of time for pictures and then back in the helicopter for the rest of our trip. We flew across the valley over to Mount Cook and then back down to the landing site. During the flight, the pilot told us that they only get to fly about 200 days a year, so if you get the chance to fly, take it. It’s well worth it!

WOW is an understatement, my best friend and I did this tour last week, it did not disappoint. Joe at the help desk was amazing, super friendly and our pilot Mark was incredible. It was so impressive how skilled he was at maneuvering the helicopter, turning on a dime and getting super close to Tasman Glacier. The snow landing was seamless, the scenery was unmatched and the experience was an overall 10/10. I would definitely recommend this tour for people of all ages.

My best friend and I decided to do a spontaneous trip to Mount Cook and were fortunate enough to have the most amazing weather.
We were lucky enough to get on the Mountains High helicopter flight, with the help of Joe who was great and accommodating.
There were no clouds in the sky. Our pilot Mark was great at maneuvering the helicopter nice and close to the glaciers. You can clearly see the ice and crevasses.
The alpine snow landing was amazing, with Tasman Glacier just across from us.
We were lucky enough to get on the Mountains High helicopter flight, with the help of Joe who was great and accommodating.

Tasman Glacier Heli Hike tours were very professional,accommodating and fun people making it a much more entertaining as well as educational. Thanks to Simon, Lani and Chris. Weeks later we are still talking about our adventure. I guess you could say we are still vibrating serenely. Worth every cent.

Flew the 40 min Mountains High flight today and it was great. No stuffing around, straight in the air and the landing mid trip was fun. Great scenery and views of the glaciers and mountains. Well worth it. Added bonus - we got upgraded from the 35 min flight to this 40 min flight for free upon arrival due to spaces.

We too thought it was expensive, but once done, we are still on cloud nine. Simply amazing. Simon our pilot provided us with a wonderful commentary and took photos for all guest when up on the glacier.
The Helicopter Line let us take our 22 month old, nothing was too difficult. We booked our trip in Lake Tekapo an hour before our flight, when we arrived at GlenTanner Airfield they told us not to rush, the staff on the ground were lovely to. Great spot to have a coffee in the café after.

Thank you for taking the time to write on Tripadvisor. It’s fantastic to hear that your money was well spent and that your family was able to experience the flight together with no problems. Our pilots take great pride in their work and showing people our little piece in the world. Photos are great keepsakes and we are pleased to hear you got some great pictures. The café is an added bonus to take some time after the flight look at the view and really soak in the experience you just had.

Thanks to Sarah our helicopter pilot she was amazing and so informative.my first experience seeing and landing on the snow words can’t explain my excitement. Mt Cook is stunning from so close we could see ski tracks and some people trekking up in the snow covered peaks. All the staff we dealt with were great thanks again for a truely memorable event in my life. If you have the chance do this helicopter adventure you will not regret it from a very happy and satisfied flyer Thanks again

if we book but the weather doesn't permit the helicopter flight, is there any refund? We just stayed one day at mount Cook and change of time appears not feasible
