Bruno was very informative & patient, he had a great manner. Paola at the vineyard was great fun and an excellent guide.
The vineyards were havens of tranquility we would love to return at harvest time.

We enjoyed all the explanations as we drove of the various vegetation, trees, fruits and the history of the towns. Both wineries were interesting, and the presentations were very well done. The tastings were great and not hurried. We had a very nice day.
The one improvement would be having audio in the van. The driver was speaking but hard to hear from the back, so we missed some explanations.
The town of Silves was interesting, and we had a nice lunch there.

We thoroughly recommend this full day wine tour. We were met by our 2 tour guides João & Paulo at our hotel.
Firstly we were driven to Paxo vineyard which is family owned and were served authentic Portuguese tapas and served 3 different wines to try. As they were in the process of harvesting the grapes we were allowed to pick grapes straight off the vines to eat!
Then we were driven to the historic town of Silves and given 2 hours to explore at our leisure, João recommended a Moroccan restaurant for our lunch which was lovely.
Afterwards we were taken to Quinta Do Francês vineyard which started as a hobby for the owner but has developed into a much larger operation! Served more tapas and sampled their wine. Here, there was the opportunity to taste more wines if you wished to pay extra (other grape varieties). Here there were panoramic views from an upstairs terraced area,
We learned about the wine making process in both vineyards and also about cork manufacturing, most informative and interesting.
At both vineyards we purchased wine to take home and enjoy back home in Scotland!
We have visited other vineyards in Europe but this day was brilliant thanks to our guides who were relaxed, knowledgeable of the Algarve region and winemaking process and very engaging throughout the day. João recommended two restaurants near our hotel which he eats in regularly.
We both thoroughly recommend this wine tour, definitely the hi light of our holiday in Albufeira!

We zijn bij het hotel opgehaald door onze gids Bruno, die het overigens erg goed deed. Het eerste wijnhuis was het leukste. Kleinschalig en niet heel toeristisch, in tegenstelling tot de tweede. De gids nam alle tijd en had veel humor. Het bezoek en Silves was de moeite waard, al had de vrije tijd van mij wel iets minder gemogen. Veel van de groep waren al ruim op tijd klaar om verder te gaan. Het tweede wijnhuis was een beetje teleurstellend. Mooie locatie met mooie wijnen, maar erg druk van alle toeristen. Zelfs zo druk dat ze regelmatig vergaten om onze glazen bij te vullen tijdens de proeverij. Hierom 1 punt aftrek. Al met al toch een aanrader

Dit mag je eigenlijk niet missen als je naar de Algarve gaat! De gids Joao (?) willen we allereerst nog eens bedanken, hij zorgde voor de helft van het plezier dat wij aan de tour beleefden. Dit doordat hij ontzettend vriendelijk en relaxed is + erg leuk kan vertellen. De andere helft kwam van de prachtige plekken die we hebben bezocht en de lekkere wijnen en hapjes. En het was ook nog leerzaam.
Een aanrader, ook voor mensen die doorgaans liever een biertje drinken.

Geweldige wijntour! Onze gids Joao was precies op tijd om ons op te halen. Hij vertelde zeer enthousiast en sprak uitstekend Engels. Met veel humor en heerlijke wijnen, is deze excursie een absolute aanrader!

We did this wine tour with João and he was fantastic! Super easy going and laid back and gave tons of information and back ground on the region. He had a great sense of humour and seemed to care that you had a great experience without feeling rushed. We got to explore the town of Silves and had a great salmon dish at a restaurant he recommended and spent time in the castle. The two wineries we went to were both lovely also and had some great wines. We bought 3 bottles from each! :D Would definitely recommend this tour!

Very relaxing but also interesting tour. You will learn a lot about wine and its production, have really good wines to taste and always a smile added to all of it. As the tour will be with 6 people maximum, everybody can ask questions and you get all the infos you would like to have. It's a completely different side of the Algarve, and Joao does his best to keep everybody happy. Highly recommended!

Thank you for the awesome wine tour! - Very informative tour of the wines of Algarve. Going through topics from the cork for the wines to how the wines are bottled. It was a pleasure having such a great tour guide telling us all the stories of the region!

This is a very enjoyable and, as the title suggests, small numbers tour. We visited two vineyards and the castle in Silves with two other couples and the tour guide Jaoa…. He is a very pleasant and personable guide who made plenty of stops to point of additional areas of interest, including local bird life and the bark of certain oak trees, so perhaps it should be called the storks and corks tour! The Paxa wineyard was lovely and the converted barn was perfect for tasting and accompanying hor d'oeuvres. The Quinto de Frances vineyard was supposedly smaller in production quantity, but seemed to be a little more commercial. All very good examples of wine from the region and an excellent tour. Would definitely recommend!

You have the chance to get a lunch at Silves in one of the many restaurants (not inlcuded). But you can also bring your lunchbox with you. Also, you get Tapas with the tastings.
